Script Breakdown and Film Scheduling Services
—
“The service that I received from Mr. Marshall was exceptional!!! As an independent producer, I am constantly waiting–it’s the nature of the game. There was no waiting on Mr. Marshall. As soon as he began my script breakdown, he worked diligently to deliver his services quickly, as promised (not to mention he’s great to deal with, lacking the all-too-typical “Hollywood arrogance”). I have already recommended Mr. Marshall’s services to other filmmakers and will certainly use his breakdown services for my future projects. Before you can create an accurate budget for your film, you need to break the script down and prepare a shooting schedule. This “one liner” enables you to generate a cast Day-Out-Of-Days, find out how many locations you have and discover the total number of “real” shooting days.
A properly designed shooting schedule is fundamental to your budgeting process. Without an experienced Assistant Director to prepare this board, you will create an unrealistic budget which will have a negative impact on your entire production.
I have worked in the Film and Television Industry for over 35 years – 22 years as a First Assistant Director. If you are interested in using my skills as an Assistant Director to break down your script and prepare a realistic film schedule for your project, below are the services I provide.
Please Note: My script breakdown service includes only the creation of the preliminary Oneliner and Cast Day-Out-Of-Days and does not include a completed shooting schedule or a budget for your project.
(1) Once I have read your script, I will contact you to discuss the following production information:
* total main unit shooting days
* total second unit shooting days
* production start date (shooting months)
* main shooting location (city)
* distant locations (cities, countries)
* stage locations
* practical locations
* weather cover scenes
* union or non-union crew/cast
* number of SAG actors
* any actor conflict dates
* visual effects scenes
* special effects scenes
* stunts scenes
* Day-for-Night possibilities
* shooting HD video or film
* child actors, animals etc
(2) What you will receive from me:
1. I will number and breakdown the script
2. I will prepare a film schedule (one-liner) on EP Scheduling
3. I will prepare a Cast Day-Out-of-Days
4. I will email you the completed one-liner in EP Scheduling & pdf
5. I will email you the Cast Day-Out-of-Days in pdf
6. I will supply sunrise/sunset tables for your city locations & dates
7. I will email you any scheduling comments
8. I will mail you my hard copy of the numbered script
(3) Completion Time
Depending on when I start, and the complexity of the script, it usually takes about 5 – 7 days to complete my first pass of the breakdown.
(4) I have also included my payment schedule for you as well:
a. 50% upon agreement
b. 25% upon submission of the first board
c. 25% upon completion of the last board and all pdf reports
IMPORTANT: Please note that my script breakdown service includes only the creation of the preliminary film schedule (Oneliner & Cast Day-Out-Of-Days) and does not include a completed shooting schedule or a budget for your project.

Hello Peter, I am acquiring about your rates for script break and film schedule down…..and do you also do budgets? and if so what are your rates for budgets?
Good Morning Peter:
What would your fee be to breakdown and schedule a 7-Part sci-fi/action/adventure feature film series to be added to an investment package for investors? And what would your fee be just for the first part (script) of the series?
I am a first-time filmmaker and looking for mentors, partners, investors to come onboard, as well as key above- and below-the-line talent with a track record that will help me in seeking the financing for my project.
I look forward to hearing from you soon.
